Week 4 of Artful Journeys

Well, in true fashion I seem to have left more than a couple of my friends at a loss...usually it's for words, but this time it was for art....lol.  Our original prompt for this week was Sports/Superbowl...and being married to a baseball player, and having ball players for 2 out of 3 kids, baseball was my sport of choice...but apparently my fellow partners in crime don't hold the same love for baseball (or other sports, either) that I do....which is cool...one of MANY things that make us uniquely us, and still let us work well as a unit...

So, I got busy and did my page....no process pictures this time as there wasn't much to process....lol...

Two shades of deeper green acrylic blended with a background sponge, names and a team logo printed off the computer....cut out the names and the logo, then glued it all down.  I added some Glossy Accents at the end, to the names, just to keep the page from being too flat.

One page, nothing too fancy on this one, because at the end of the day, baseball isn't fancy...it's just a humbling game that teaches men how to handle failure and see just what they're made of...to borrow a quote from Tom Hanks in A League of Their Own....."It's supposed to be hard.  If it wasn't hard everyone would do it.  The hard is what makes it great!"

I love baseball...the strategy, the tendencies, the fact that a man can fail at the plate 7 out of 10 times, and still be successful.  I love that some days you win and some you lose but you come back again and bust your ass and still don't give up.  I love that there are 162 games of baseball played by my team every year and every year I anxiously await the reporting of pitchers and catchers to camp.

Ok, I'm done...lol...catch y'all later!

  3. It is a nice page and I am glad we can't still work as a unit even though I hate sports. Lol

  4. Great page! I'm not a sports fan, but I do enjoy the odd baseball game. When the Montreal Expos were a team, we used to go see them fairly regularly. :)

  5. Thanks, ladies, for you kind words! Baseball is the one constant in life, and it holds so many good memories for me that have my dad in them....
